Mark Posted May 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2004 It seems like most of the cruises that I have taken recently have not offered skeet shooting. Does anyone know why cruise lines seem to be avoiding this popular at sea activity? The ships I have been on that have offered it have always had lines of people waiting to participate. What gives? Nitemare Posted May 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I think it's the enviromental consideration about all those clay pigeons and shot flying into the ocean that ended the practice.
tef43 Posted May 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Skeet shooting aboard cruise ships ended at least ten years ago, maybe more. But regardless of any environmental concerns, which was the original reason for banning the practice (same as driving golf balls off the fantail)... With today's world, I'm not sure I want to see passengers with guns, especially after a few foo foo drinks. Tom <--- Curmudgeon of the Seas Eleven cruises so far. Up next: Shhhh, it's a surprise! Followed by: Carnival Valor 10/30/05 CC Group And then: Carnival Spirit 12/10/05 Mexican Riviera Perhaps something else as well. Watch this space. MSUSigmaK Posted May 22, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2004 On Celebrity, nets are used with the the outside golf and M class ships have simulators. There are a few ports with skeet shooting offered if you are interested.
