boowaaccaa Posted November 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2012 DH and I have always enjoyed a cappuccino after dinner for 'free'.....I just notice a menu on someone's review that showed a cappuccino for $2.95 on the dinner menu. Is Carnival now charging for this?

rkacruiser Posted November 11, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2012 It has been very recently reported that this nickel and diming has spread to HAL as well. At least, on the Eurodam.

Is Carnival now charging for this? They charge for this on all of the ships that have the buffet comedy brunch. Supposedly it is "better" than the free cappuccino they used to serve. EastTex Posted November 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted November 11, 2012 Ya know what? I kinda liked a cappuccino sometimes after dinner but at $2.95 it wasn't that good. I can live without it.
mj Posted November 11, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 11, 2012 They charge for this on all of the ships that have the buffet comedy brunch. Supposedly it is "better" than the free cappuccino they used to serve. That was what was originally communicated by Carnival. However; that was not the case on the Fascination last September . They were charging for cappuccino and expresso on the Fascination and there was no comedy brunch.

kyrisong1 Posted November 12, 2012 #16 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I wonder how many of these wonderful cappucino's they are now selling? Not many I'm thinking Stu, I managed to go our whole cruise in September without buying one of them!!! And I used to have them every night, it was one of my fav perks :-( Carole
mistycruiser Posted November 12, 2012 #17 Share Posted November 12, 2012 They were still free on the Splendor in Sept. but who knows, they may be charging now.
bartrise Posted November 12, 2012 #18 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Sad but true just did Ectasy cruise and when I asked in mdr my server said he would have to charge me and encouraged me to take regular coffee which I declined. I explained I would go to the Rolls Royce Coffee shop and get a big cup made to my specs for the same price. Besides the girl who works there was great to chat with and remembered my name after one visit;)
dezertcruzer Posted November 12, 2012 #19 Share Posted November 12, 2012 We were on the Splendor in September and the cappuccino was still free. I also enjoy it after dinner every now and then, but not that much. Oh well...
JeanieTheMom Posted November 12, 2012 #20 Share Posted November 12, 2012 They charged for it on the Elation in September, but it was one of the drinks you could get with your coupon for a free drink at breakfast or lunch. So I tried it at breakfast. It is bigger than the free cups used to be. I think it's better than the free stuff used to be. So anyway, one night I bought a cup. Here's a picture that has another object that everyone is familiar with so you can get the size comparison.
meluvtogocruise Posted November 12, 2012 #21 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Ah... too bad. I really thought that was nice to have them do it for free. I won't mind paying for it though, if I want one. It's my vacation after all. I'm sure that costs are going up and there are just some places they need to make changes. Cinders411 Posted November 12, 2012 #22 Share Posted November 12, 2012 They were charging for them on our Oct cruise on the Paradise. Too bad. I was a bit disappointed but, then I remembered, hey I am on vacation!
Chris41 Posted November 12, 2012 #23 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Oh well but it really is no different then any other place you eat. Most places charge for these same things and like Carnival house coffee is free. I have always had a expresso after dinner and probably will not change because it was free at one time. FlaGrl4Evr Posted November 12, 2012 #24 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I really enjoyed the Cappacino with my dessert each night and even with the $2.95 charge, I will most likely still order it. It's just one of those things that seems worth it to me. Life's all about priorities. ;) .
