generaljudy Posted November 13, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2012 Will be sailing on the Jewel out of NYC on Nov 18th - will it be too cold to snorkel? I saw some water temp charts that indicate partial wet suits. NCL is offering the snorkeling excursions, so wondering if anyone has experience with this this. Thanks
Stevesan Posted November 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2012 Water temp is 77-80f in November. Not too cold if you prepare for it. A rash guard shirt does the trick for me. Be sure to puchase at your local dive or sporting goods store (Sports Authority for example) so you can try it on. Most are designed for surfers, but loose fit shirts are available. Body Glove is a good loose fit choice. Besides offering some warmth they're also good for UV protection, and fending off the little stingy things.:p
G.C Posted November 13, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2012 The water temperature in Nassau today is 78. Expect it to be a degree or two colder when you arrive. To me that`s cold and I`m wearing a 5mm wetsuit. The weather this time of year tends to be breezy which will make you feel cooler. Prepare for cool weather better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
bobo071553 Posted November 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2012 I was on a Christmas Cruise in Nassau a couple years ago. The water was cool but not unbearable. Still had a great time snorkling.

We snorkeled in both Coco Cay (RC private Island) and Nassau that trip.
