Rebel Rouser Posted November 18, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2012 Hi GG1 Indeed the Island Escape is a very good ship for Solo Travellers, they have a crew member set up especially for solo passengers to arrange Dinners (share tables) and Meetings etc. My lad who came with us had a single cabin and they are fine ;) Any more questions please don't be afraid to ask. ekco Posted November 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2012 I agree. On our first cruise I thought that it would be an ideal holiday to go on alone. I was up early using the gym on my own and one night stayed in the bar chatting for a short time while my OH went back to the cabin. I would never dream of doing that on any other holiday and felt totally comfortable and safe wandering about the ship alone.:):) Jan
sodafountain Posted November 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2012 Please make sure you read these 2 posts before booking though, the IE might still be sailing next year, no one knows what is happening (apart from Thomson are still selling the crusies aboard the IE). http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1735174 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1733517 That said, if she is still sailing, you will have a great time, as we did for our 3 nights (we had to sail the Spirit for the first 4 nights due to IE being a week late back in service - still, got 2 ships for the price of 1, a free trip in Tenerife and £300 spending money aboard the ship, when on AI it went on other things, and even got a cash refund when we left).
