HazeGray Posted November 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2012 After reviewing the NCL web page on cash withdrawals at the casino, I am still a bit confused. Can you get cash in the casino against your onboard account? It used to be that way with a 3% service charge. Now it appears that it is against your credit card with a 5.5% service fee. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
che5904 Posted November 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Global Cash Advances - Available at the Casino Cage with Visa®, MasterCard®, and Discover®. Cash advance fees at 5.5 % of requested amount. If you take your credit card to the casino cage you will be charged 5.5% of the requested amount. ATM Machines - An ATM Machine is located in the casino and some ship atriums. ATM fee - $5.50 per transaction. self explanatory Onboard accounts - Sign up to $2,000 per day to your onboard account. The limit is per day per credit card. A 3% convenience fee may apply. If you take the money up to $2000/day off of your onboard account at the casino cage it is 3% of the requested amount. I believe the wording is "may apply", because it used to be and may still be that certain levels of players did not pay 3%.

If you draw against your onboard account it is 3% and treated like a purchase on the card. Once someone goes thru $2000 a day limit on option 2 then option one is used to increase their donation. Also the wording "may apply" is because in the past they have not charged the 3% fee on European sailings.. Don't know if this has changed very recently, no fees as of May of this year. We don't get enough time off of work to allow this to happen. But it is on my wish list for the future, with fingers crossed. ;)
