deborahjo Posted November 25, 2012 #26 Share Posted November 25, 2012 A military passport cannot be used for personal travel; it can only be used in conjuction with military orders to a specific destination. Thank you. We traveled on ours when we were in Germany from country to country when we were stationed there.

If you were travelling by land within the Schengen zone you did not need a passport to cross frontiers. As a purely technical matter you could have been asked for a passport to enter Switzerland, had this happened you could have been denied entry without orders. Paul Bogle Posted November 25, 2012 #28 Share Posted November 25, 2012 Doing a little reading today I see Switzerland has joined the Schengen zone also. Passport free travel includes everywhere in red, pink and blue.
