He says "news will be here on December 5th." while i hope they will be available at that time he does not specifically say that they will be.

That is true. But I also recall that someone was told that they weren't going to fix the online issue for adding OBC because there would be something new on December 5th. Could be gift cards instead? Speculation of course.

I was on the phone this morning with Carnival buying "Fun Ship Dollars" and the agent told me the gift cards would roll out on Monday and would only be available online. She said they will be able to be used for OBC and payment on your trip. She knew little to nothing more on them and I asked several questions. Guess it will be wait and see...

It will be great if they can be used to pay on cruises, not just OBC. Disney does this and I've used them for that. I'm all for Carnival doing it. Makes it easy for people to know a good gift to get for me. :D
