New Orleans Hotel Question

Can anyone tell me if it is easy walking distance from the Holiday Inn superdome to the French Qtr? Anyone used the cruise package at this hotel. Second question...... anyone styed at the Residence Inn on St Joseph St ?? Of the 2 which would be the best $$ for an over night stay before a cruise?????

You can walk to the Qtr from the HI Superdome in around 20mins. We normally stay at the Marriott Convention Center and park at Fulton Place for $12 per day. This includes shuttle to/from the ship. You can get a 1-day trolley pass for $3 which will allow you to easily make it to the Qtr via the Julia St stop. Its nice to wake up in the morning to see your ship waiting for you.
