Any packing tips?

I was wondering if there are any tips or tricks to packing formal clothes without getting them wrinkled?

I heard if you use the slippery plastic bags you get with your dry cleaning in between pieces of clothing prevents wrinkles. I have been saving them up to use for packing for our cruise in Jan. on the Jewel of the Seas.

We used the dry cleaning bags and our formal clothes were virtually unwrinkled. Our clothes were packed from Thursday night until Sunday afternoon. It was remarkable how well this method works.

If you're using a garment bag, put dry cleaners bags over the hangers, gather the bags at the bottom and tie knots, leaving some air in the bag to create an air cushion. In a suitcase, just fold the bag-wrapped clothes accordian-style in the suitcase.

 

For DH's suit, he also stuffs the jacket sleeves with tissue paper.

I agree with the suggestion about using the dry cleaning bags. They worked great for us. For the rest of your clothes, Space Bags! I found that you really can pack more if you use them. The secret is in folding clothes so they are pressed instead of wrinkled. It might take some practice.
