NCL Casino Drink card

I am traveling on my first NCL cruise in a few months on the Star. I have found this site to be both informative and enjoyable and am now logging in on a daily basis. I got my cruise as a perk from Casinos at Sea and the Caesars Corp. I called NCL the other day to ask about a in room bar set up and found out that I will be recieving a drink card good for drinks in the casino bar while on my cruise. Does anyone have any info on how this works? Is it good for anything? Do I have to be gambling in order to drink for free? Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanking all who respond in advance.

You can sit at the bar in the casino...... You do not have to be sitting at a machine all the time...... but if you don't gamble at all I'm sure they could take the card back.

I walked out with my drinks all the time....they certainly knew I was coming back....... I played for hours every night...but if I wasn't in the casino and I wanted a drink I popped in picked up my drink and left........

When the casino is open the card is good. We had a card on the spirit Dec 2011. They only had certain wines though. ( no Pinot Grigio) I am hoping this has changed. I think all they had was a Chardonnay offered for a white wine. I like my Pinot Grigio but I did without. If I remember correctly most top shelf was included. You are expected to gamble but I have walked out with my drinks before,no questions asked.

We are going on the Gem in April through COS. I am looking forward to the roulette table :D

They say its not good for top shelf booze but weve always gotten anything we wanted...Even any kinds of shots and a beer.

Our service person would be back with new drinks in hand before we were even done....We tipped $1-$2 per round and they were very happy.

Good Luck...We just got a great deal through Carnival with $1,000 Comped Cash in the casino and Free Drinks starting first day...JUST HOPE THE SHIP DOESNT BREAK DOWN,,,:D:D
