Voluntourism Excursion in St. John

Has anyone tried the voluntourism excursion that Celebrity offers? They write it politically correct but basically it is a few hours of volunteering of picking up trash, painting, planting, whatever needs done. You pay $50 which covers transportation and a donation to the project. I was thinking about trying it but would like some feedback first.

I haven't done the excursion, but I've seen it on Celebrity and RCL ships. I do know that you'll be working with other National Park volunteers who do maintenance within the park. I've met other park volunteers who stay for a few weeks or months, and they love the experience, but I haven't met any cruisers who've participated.
