For the people that have been to China by cruiseship

Recommended Posts

Our roll call members are in a bit of a quandry.

We have been told conflicting stories on what type of visa we will require to enter China. Last time we were there we got a multi entry visa. Now there is the opinion that we will only need a single entry visa, even though we will be going to three different ports. These ports, however, are the final three, with Beijing being the last.

Has anyone been to china recently on the Diamond or other cruise ship and if so what type of visa did everyone get?

We have been twice and had a multi entry visa. On the first cruise we went to 2 ports and people had to stay aboard as they only had the single entry visa.

I would definately check with the Chinese Embassy before purchasing a single entry visa.

Definitely check with the Chinese embassy. Chinese visas have recently changed as well. If you are there less than 3 days and have a ticket for an onward journey, you won't need a visa anymore. Definitely worth checking on though.

Hi, I went to China in 2009 on Arcadia, we had 2 ports of call and I got a multi entry visa.

Chinese officials boarded the ship almost a week before we reached china to check everyone had the right entry documents, it was very millitary like.

Enjoy Dee
