cruising_and_loving_life Posted December 27, 2012 #52 Share Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Can you list which ships currently have the Cheers program? Also, what is the cost for the program? Thanks in advance!! This is on a trial basis only, presently on the Carnival Victory, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Breeze, Carnival Dream, Carnival Conquest; Carnival Legend; Carnival Valor and the Carnival Liberty. Under the Cheers Beverage Program!, guests can enjoy a wide variety of wine, beer and spirits, along with sodas and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails throughout the voyage at one convenient, flat rate. The cost for this program is $42.95 per person, per day, plus a 15% gratuity. Guests can sign up for the Cheers Beverage Program at the Atrium Bar, Casino Bar or the bar at the main pool area. shellsd Posted December 27, 2012 #57 Share Posted December 27, 2012 I am sailing with 7 others who are not scouting for information like I am so I sent them the following explanation: You can get the drinking package with cash or credits :) The catch is that every adult in the cabin must buy the package. The cost would be $42.95/day plus 15% gratuity - can be bought on first or second day only so the total including both of you would be $691.50 if you bought it the first day. Includes: all drinks under $10 so beer, wine, liquor, frozen drinks, non-alcoholic frozen drinks, soda, alchemy mix bar, drinks of the day (but not the special glasses if it comes with one) Does not include: bottled water, specialty coffee, energy drinks If one person has more than 15 alcoholic drinks in a day, they may or may not cut you off for the rest of the day. You get a 25% discount on any other alcohol purchases (i.e.,if you wanted to buy something over $10) and bottled water You have to wait 5 minutes between drinks. sample bar menu here: http://zydecocruiser.net/Carnival-Bar-Menu/2012bar/Bar_menu.pdf

Laeno Posted December 27, 2012 #59 Share Posted December 27, 2012 Planning a cruise with my girlfriend, brother, and SIL in late April on Conquest. Just heard about this new program, and I'm interested. Problem is, girlfriend only drinks a little, and brother rarely drinks. Any chance of putting myself and SIL in room, buying the drinks thing, then swapping rooms again? Wouldn't be worth it to buy it for two people who don't drink much! phrskn Posted July 10, 2013 #63 Share Posted July 10, 2013 For the Valor, we depart on a Sunday at 10:00pm boarding most likely around 2:00pm. I have 2 questions: 1) I seen a posting where you could not purchase the Cheers program until the second day, can anyone confirm? 2) do they charge you for 6 days as you would be disembarking the ship on the following Sunday morning after 8:00pm sometime? trying to figure if the cost would be approx. $600 for 2 people.... There are more recent threads with more up to date info. Do a quick search . To answer your questions: On the Valor you can buy on the first day or second day...its up to you. After that...no purchase. Price is 49.95 per day per person plus 15% gratuity. You are charged for either 7 or 6 days. Your choice. So cost is either approx $690 for 2 or $804 for 2. virgo55 Posted November 20, 2013 #68 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Yes! I guess I had a few questions about it. It has been a while since I cruised and all I could remember is that they were expensive and added up quickly. Do you remember the average cost of a drink? $50 a day does sound expensive but I guess I also figure I am on vacation and probably will consume more than usual. Are they real sticklers if you try to share a drink with someone else? Did you find alot of drinks were not offered in this program?

Are they real sticklers if you try to share a drink with someone else? Did you find alot of drinks were not offered in this program? Yes, they are sticklers....the program covers all drinks up to 10 bucks except those that come with a take home glass, so the majority of drinks are included. You get up to 15 per day and a day starts at 600AM. You can purchase the program on day 1 or on day 2. The program is nice, but other cruise lines like Celebrity and RCI have better drink program options. RCI's program is good on Labadee, but Carnival's is not good on Half Moon Cay, for example. aricczona Posted November 22, 2013 #72 Share Posted November 22, 2013 I know "specialty" coffee drinks are not included. I assume they mean from the cafe kiosk. Is the MDR cappuccino included? It used to be free, but I see now it is about $3. I love to have a cup with dessert when I am in the dining room. Would this be considered a less than $10 drink toward the 15 limit? Wilson820 Posted November 23, 2013 #74 Share Posted November 23, 2013 I'm sailing on the Sunshine in January with a group of friends. Not all of us are big drinkers. Are you aware of any exceptions given to the rule requiring all adults in a cabin to participate in the Cheers program if one wants to?
