smilesep Posted December 20, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2012 We will be departing July 21, 2013 on the Allure from FL. Because several of us are coming from different areas, we are meeting the night before the cruise and are trying to find a place to stay that has free parking for the length of the cruise and a shuttle to the port. I would appreciate any suggestions on lodging near restaurants that are clean and safe but not super expensive. Thank you!
Plant Posted December 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2012 It's been a while, but we enjoyed staying at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites Airport in Hollywood, FL. Here's the link to the hotel: http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do?ident=LQ985&propId=985&savedSearchQuery=%2Flq%2FproxySearchRes.do%3FsearchCity%3Dfll%26indate%3D7%252F20%252F2013%26availability.palsra_IND_D%3D20%26availability.palsra_IND_M%3D7%26availability.palsra_IND_Y%3D2013%26outdate%3D7%252F21%252F2013%26availability.palsra_OTD_D%3D21%26availability.palsra_OTD_M%3D7%26availability.palsra_OTD_Y%3D2013%26availability.palsra_RPC1%3D%26availability.palsra_CCN1%3D%26mapProvider%3DGOOGLE%26searchType%3DGEO%26lat%3D26.0727465%26lon%3D-80.14002870000001 It was clean, offered a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the port, free parking and breakfast. It's walking distance to Oakwood Plaza with restaurant's and shopping.
JohninDC Posted December 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2012 www.parksleepfly.com is a good source for hotels offering parking deals - you might also check www.saty123.com www.sunny.org provides info on most FLL area hotels. Good luck! :)

I would appreciate any suggestions on lodging near restaurants that are clean and safe but not super expensive. Thank you! We have a few rooms booked at the Sleep Inn & Suites, for our upcoming cruise in April. They offered us a good AAA discount, and have a free airport shuttle and breakfast. According to the web-site, the hotel is a walkable mile from the beach and is located next to a Walgreens and across the street from a shopping center which has a grocery store and three restaurants. ( Italian, Oriental and Spanish/Mexican. They have a port shuttle to FLL but for port of Miami you have to arrange your own. We are going with QLS shuttle due to early pick-up times. The hotel does have both a 7 day and a 14 day parking package. http://www.sleepinn.com/hotel-dania-florida-FL664 Here is a review of the Sleep Inn that another CC poster just added to this board: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=36398390#post36398390 Here is a list of some other FLL hotels that offer cruise pkgs. http://www.sunny.org/travel-trade/pre-post-cruise/pre-post-hotel-info/ Good luck to you. :) :)
royalcruz Posted December 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2012 I think the Hampton Inns north and south of the airport still offer this.
aria48 Posted December 21, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2012 FYI: the sunny.org list has outdated info, don't go by that. This listing is up to date: http://www.parkingstay.com/p/ft-lauderdale.html and I believe you can book most of the packages online.

The only one listed there with free parking and free cruise shuttle included in the STANDARD rate is Springhill. It looks like all the hotels are now charging in some way.
