NCL Casinos at Sea VS Royal Caribean Casino Royale Club

I just wanted to advise cruisers and casino players on my take. Both NCL and RCCL have players club programs and comps. I am a guy who plays at land based casinos everywhere and am always RFB (Room, Food, and Beverage comped) I play tables games usually (although slots sometimes) and my credit line is always 5 digits. Average bet can range anywhere from $50-$750.

I just finished a cruise on RCCL and was invited into their program after our cruise with Oasis. The program is a joke. They offered me $500 off my next cruise and acted like it was a free cruise in the presidential suite. I am sorry, but anyone interested in cruising with a real cruise line that comps their players accordingly, NCL is the place to be.

We go on 2-4 cruises a year with NCL and I am always comped the cabain and its always been a SUITE. Not sure why anyone would cruise with RCCL who is looking for comps, but I wanted to put the facts out there about the casino players programs at both lines.

We belong to the RCI Casino Royale Club and have gone on a couple of NCL cruises also - I have to agree with you that NCL comps you much better but we don't go on a cruise just for the casino and really like RCI cruises much better! So, we take what RCI comps us and keep on playing!:D

Completely agree with you regarding NCL's program being better. In order to get the best out of RCCL should you want to sail with them because of either itinerary or ship - book through a junket club. They will offer you a deeper discount off of whatever cabin you choose and then after the cruise is finished (about 6 weeks after) you will get a rebate check back in the mail. We got close to 50% back of what we ultimately lost between the comp on the cabin and the money lost.

I book with the junket for my NCL cruises too - not because of the cabin offered as we've always been offered suites as well but because of the comps at the end of the cruise. The amount discounted through the junket off the bill is much more than others have been offered through NCL.

I'm sure you probably have a local junket that works with cruise lines. If not, I'd be happy to direct you. But it sounds like you've got it all taken care of. Just thought I'd throw that out there for others that may be looking into differences between the player's clubs.

I have only ever been on RCCL cruises but I can tell you their Club Royale has been very good to me and my bankroll isn't anywhere near 5 digits. However, I never play the tables, only the slots at around $5 a spin -- hand, for video poker. All my cruises in the past two years (6 of them) have been completely complimentary for me and a guest and my "guest" (husband) doesn't play nearly as much as I do. On my upcoming Oasis cruise, they are also covering gratuities and we are getting a VIP BBQ in Cozumel. With the additional cash waiting for me at the casino, many of the comps also cover our airfare. I also get free drinks in the casino. I do think that slot players do better with comps than table players. I usually spend around 4 hours a day in the casino. A lot depends on the casino host, too.
