Grand Cayman tours

Can we do a tour of Grand Cayman by ourselves--at least the town itself? Is the town near the pier? We are going on the TCM classic movie cruise in Jan.

We are in Grand Cayman in March and will be doing an independent Stingray City Tour. Apparently it's the thing to do there. Read about it from different posts on cruise critic and trip adviser. Lots of tours on the website. I'm sure you'll have time to walk around the town as well as the tours are not long.

Very easy to walk around GC.....and you should really take a sting ray city tour (not the one from the ship) because it's pretty unique.

 

We've been there so often that when we arrive, the sting rays spell out "welcome back GH" on the bottom under the ship.

If you are at the main pier, you take a tender to shore and downtown is right there. Easy to walk around. However, if you get assigned to another location, you get tendered to the middle of nowhere and must take a cab to get anywhere. However, tours will pick you up there as they monitor the locations.. We were at the alternate tender site on one of the smaller Celebrity class ships and our tour came to pick us up there.

 

My favorite is the Stingray City tour. We did Celebrity once and once was enough. We now do it with an independent company and have been pleased.
