Private deck?

decks 5,6 & 7 at the front of the ship, there is usally a little walkway out there that is seldom visited. you wouldn't know about it unless your room was in the front of one of those decks, or studied the floor plans on the website.

Thanks! Is it on all ships? Currently looking to book the Freedom in one of the porthole cabins that's priced as an inside and wondering if I'll have accees to that deck. It only looks like Riveria and Main are available for those cabins.

No private decks that low. But you can still use the ones on deck 5 6 & 7. People just don't take the time to check out the cool quite places on the ships for some reason.

It's decks 6,7, 9, 10 and 11 on Dream class.

Decks 6,7,9 and 10 on Destiny/Triumph/Conquest/Splendor class with the exception of the Conquest class ships which have had Captains suites added to deck 9. I know Valor and Glory have the suites, not sure which others do or will be scheduled to have them soon.

They are not "private" decks that only certain people have access to. They are called "secret" decks because not many people seem to know about them.

As others have said on the Freedom they will be all the way forward on decks 6 & 7. Sometimes the doors are locked at dusk and sometimes not. Since they are right under the bridge I think there is an issue with lights so it's very dark out there.

We will be on the Triumph in March and we are the Empress Deck, deck 7, forward in a 4J cabin. Considered an inside room with walkway view. It is cheaper than an OV cabin and has a great view w an inside cost.

Our first cruise with Carnival was on the Destiny in 1999. Same location as you, deck 7 forward inside. We found the forward deck just after finding our cabin and were very glad we did. We spent plenty of time out there on that cruise and felt like it was our own private deck.

If we book an inside it is always on deck 7, 9 or 10. :)

On Conquest the Captain's Suites on Deck 9 are on Valor, Liberty, Conquest and Glory.

The Scenic Ocean View's on Deck 9 are on Valor, Conquest and Glory so no 'secret deck' on Lido.

Also on Conquest class ships a less traveled deck is on Deck 3 off the lobby.

So it sounds like only Freedom remains as constructed. As for deck three, I think most people know about this as this is where passengers initially board the ship. :D

We were on one of the HAL ships viewing the glaciers in Alaska. The ship has a public 'secret' deck in front of some front facing OV cabins.

A pax in one of those cabins kept on coming out and complaining for everyone to move off her deck so she could see the glaciers. No one moved, she wasn't too happy.
