Keepercruiser Posted December 30, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2012 We're on the STAR Jan 6th and have sailed this route 4 previous times. Done loads of excursions in the other ports but never in Cozumel since the shopping is so good there. Anyone done the Jeep and snorkeling tour? Any good? must2cruz Posted December 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2012 About 3 years ago we did a tour that was a jeep rental, snorkel and drive around the island. In our case the snorkel experience wasn't so great as it was fairly close to the ships. (We made the best of that part). The rest of the experience was great! It allowed us to see the beautiful east side of the island. We didn't swim on the east side as the rip current is very strong. We would do that particular tour again. Hope this helps. Happy cruising.
Keepercruiser Posted December 30, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted December 30, 2012 Thanks for the info must2cruz. It's the island we really wanted to see rather than the snorkeling and we love jeep/landrover/buggy tours so it might be a good tour for us. jdvmd Posted December 31, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2012 You might also want to post this on the Cozumel Ports of Call board.
Love2travel4 Posted December 31, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Try to take a tour to the other side of the island to see Punta Sur! The snorkeling is great and the views are fantastic! If you rent your own car/jeep make sure to have lunch at Coconuts. This restaurant sits right on the ocean cliffs. Also if you like adventure try XRAIL excursion! Did this in 02-2012..AMAZING! Was in Cozumel again in 10-2012 we took a tour that took us over to Playa Del Carmen, jeep tour, snorkeling etc! Have fun!
