Ft Lauderdale Port to MIA Earliest Flight?

I'm looking for some advice for my return flight. I had a nice flight time on American but they just cancelled that flight so now have to book something else.

 

We will be arriving in Ft Lauderdale port on April 14, 2013 on Celebrity Silhouette. There will be 3 other ships also in port including the Allure of the Seas. There are no ships scheduled for the Port of Miami that day.

 

Would you:

1) Take a higher priced flight out of FLL at 12:10pm?

 

Or

2) Take a cheaper flight out of MIA at 12:10pm?

 

We can carry our luggage off and take a cab. What would you do?

How much cheaper is the flight? :confused:

 

From Port Everglades to MIA is about 40+ minutes -- you can cab it for $85+ :eek:, shuttle for about $30 each, or try a car/limo service for a few $$ less than the cab fare.

 

For the FLL flight you'll have time to sleep in, enjoy breakfast in the MDR and then cab to the airport for about $15.

The flight would be a total of $90 cheaper for 2 people. That's all together not each. It sounds like I'll end up losing any savings to the additional price of cab fare.

 

I was leaning towards the FLL flight but I guess this puts it over the top.

We did a ship shuttle to MIA from Fort Lauderdale with no issues. It was worry free and painless.

For sure for the little extra paid, fly out of Ft L. :D You will not save anything by transporting to MIA.
