AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #76 Share Posted January 9, 2013 As soon as we settled the kids and I walked to the "conch graveyard". They picked up a few - no trouble getting them back on the ship. I just stuffed them in my backpack.
AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #77 Share Posted January 9, 2013 We swam a bit. The weather was perfect. We had to make a visit to Jack's Shack :D It was a nice walk down the beach to the left of the pier. You can't miss it. The beach area was nicer down there - no rocks/reef, really sandy. Only downside was there wasn't any shade. We ordered a few drinks and had some Jerk Chicken - Yum! Kids decided they were going to swim back to the pier area. AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #79 Share Posted January 9, 2013 We made a quick stop at Margaritaville then did some shopping for tshirts before heading back to the ship. Once onboard we did the slide a few times and sat in the hot tub for a bit.
AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #80 Share Posted January 9, 2013 Looking off my parents balcony. Grand Turk Sunset Tonight was the 3rd Formal night. My husband tried to eat in the dinning room dressed in a tshirt & shorts - Some people on this board should be happy to know that the Maitre D' was manning the door for dress code violations. He told my husband he needed to wear pants. No big deal - my husband didn't want to eat in the dinning room anyway and headed up to the buffett area. After dinner we met in the casino - my husband said that while he was eating in the buffett area the Maitre D' came and found him and apologized for turning him away & to please come and join his family for dinner. Apparently, there were alot of people confused with the extra Cruise Elegant evening - since we already had 2 Cruise Elegant nights alot of people thought that this was a casual night & on top of that since we left Grand Turk at 6pm several people didn't have time to get dressed up -so the Maitre D' was allowing folks to eat in the dinning room no matter how they were dressed. Dinner choices tonight. The rest of the evening was spent in the casino/casino bar area listening to music & the kids spent time in the clubs. AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #81 Share Posted January 9, 2013 SEA DAY- FRIDAY, 12/28/12 Morning sunrise. Carnival Destiny following us back to Miami. Today was spent doing typical sea day things - alot of lounging around. We got up and had coffee with the parents in the buffett area then my husband and I headed to the Punchliners Brunch again. Yummy food - Churros were great! Towel Animal demo
AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #82 Share Posted January 9, 2013 We watched some of the silly games & the Love/Marriage show. My husband was picked to participate in one of the games and he got a fun medal. Later us girls convinced the boys to go to tea time with us. AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #83 Share Posted January 9, 2013 Taste Bar - yummy stuff here. This was offered I think 3 times during the cruise. The last night was the only night I remembered to take a picture. Different dishes from different restaurants on the ships were featured - all were tasty. Never any line or crowd and you could have as many samples as you wanted. Dinner The casino host brought my brother another bottle of wine. Earlier in the day we had packed so we returned to our room to put the luggage out. We were Zone 6 for leaving. The rest of the evening was spent in the casino, kids were with their new friends and then we met up for the Legends show later. Last towel animal. AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #86 Share Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) PORT OF MIAMI - SATURDAY 12/29/12 We arrived back to POM right on time. We were all up and out of our cabin by 7am. Lido buffett for breakfast - it wasn't too crowded but there was a steady stream of people. Had our breakfast and then just sat around and waited for our number to be called. Once our number was called we headed to deck 3 and off the ship. Luggage was picked up off the carosels, went thru customs and we were in our cars by 9:15am. Pulling into POM. Carnival Destiny pulling in behind us. Waiting for our number to be called. Driving away - Bye Bye Carnival Liberty :( Edited January 9, 2013 by AdobeRN

AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #88 Share Posted January 9, 2013 We had a great vacation. Only complaint from everyone was that it felt like we skipped Christmas - so we will probably not travel during Christmas again. If anyone has questions - just ask, I will do my best to answer. Those of you going on this cruise - Have fun, we did & I would definetly do this itinerary again.

AdobeRN Posted January 9, 2013 Author #90 Share Posted January 9, 2013 We did the walking tour in Nassau a few years ago and felt the same way as you. No way would I do it again. I was trying to keep an open mind about this place and was kindof determined to be able to do the walking tour but I had my family constantly bugging me about how safe this place was - so I was alittle afraid. Pellaz Posted January 10, 2013 #94 Share Posted January 10, 2013 Great review...always fun to re-live that last cruise! Also stinks you had to "suffer" through Nassau instead of Half Moon Cay. We did the Liberty in the spring on this itinerary and LOVED HMC. I guess that's what next cruises are for! Was that a one-time substitution of Nassau for HMC? Any reason why? I'd much rather go to HMC than Nassau, and I was crushed when we had to skip it on our Liberty cruise due to weather. :(
blase73 Posted January 10, 2013 #95 Share Posted January 10, 2013 LOVED this review! My extended family is going on this same cruise in May and as it's my first cruise, this was extremely informative for me! I also forwarded it to my family so they can enjoy it as well. Your family looks so fun and looks like they enjoyed many of the same things my family will be doing!! Also curious why Nassau was subbed for HMC on your cruise - did they give you an explanation? I would have been p*ssed!

takevtr1 Posted January 11, 2013 #100 Share Posted January 11, 2013 Great Review and Great Pictures. Question, what is included in the cruise price and what is not? Specifically, Guys Burger Place and some of the other new features that are part of Carnival 2.0. I have not sailed Carnival in several years, especially since they started tyhis 2.0 program so I am curious what extras may have to come out of my pocket. Seriously considering the Liberty for Aug. 2013. thanks in advance, Mitch........
