Bringing Wine

Any one have experience with bringing wine into Buenos Aires thru EZE Airport? We like to take a few bottles of special wines to enjoy while cruising. Have never had any problem in European ports but have no experience with South America. Would hate for it to be taken away. Thx

I believe , but am not certain, that the limit for all goods brought into AR via EZE is 300 USD.

Of course, there are great wines available in the duty free shops after landing in EZE and there is no limit on wines so purchased.

You should double check to ensure that there is no limit on purchases from the duty free store.

Why would you take a chance and the hassle of carrying bottles of wine in your luggage to save a few dollars?

 

You are spending good money to go on a trip so add a few more dollars toward buying the local wines which are quite good.

I have brought bottles of California Cabs, Single Malt Scoth, and Kentucky Bourbon to various friends in Argentina. Never had a problem with customs but the total has never exceeded 300 dollars either.

 

Agree with the poster re: the quality of local wines. Argentina produces some excellent wines. Standouts are Malbecs and Red-blends. For something different in whites, look at a good bottle of Torrontes. Very distinctive.
