Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #53 Share Posted January 5, 2013 What food is on the side opposite Guys? Or is that where one of the bars is now located? It's the Blue Iguana Cantina where they serve burritos and tacos. Yes, Blue Iguana Cantina. And they make their own tacos, but getting a little ahead. Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #57 Share Posted January 5, 2013 I guess that is enough of an introduction, on with the random cruise... Shore excursions desk did have snorkels for sale I'll be doing some snorkeling later, but have my own snorkel gear. Crescent City Connection (Mississippi River Bridge) in New Orleans That way is upriver - the Gulf of Mexico is in the other direction, about 95 river miles. Visible at embarkation is the "new" chair hog policy. I didn't notice them enforcing, but then, I didn't really notice any chair hogs. Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #59 Share Posted January 5, 2013 The Deli is always popular and is where the hot dogs now are.
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #60 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Part of the Lido buffet area is now dedicated to Comfort Kitchen. There are familiar foods here and some that are not so familiar - to me, anyway.
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #61 Share Posted January 5, 2013 If I remember correctly, years ago, this window served Asian food, but they haven't used it for anything in a while. I guess potential for future food! yep, used to be the Asian Corner
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #62 Share Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) Speaking of Blue Iguana Cantina (not to be confused with the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, although they are near to each other), time ot check it out. There are two serving areas - one for burritos and one for tacos. In addition, there is a well stocked Salsa Bar area with salsas, hot sauces, and ore. Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #65 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Before I forget (again), Blue Iguana Cantina is open for breakfast and lunch! Something to keep in mind.
Rowan555 Posted January 5, 2013 #66 Share Posted January 5, 2013 In the past, if someone wanted a hot dog but the burger line was very long, it was pretty simple to walk up and grab a hot dog without being rude, because of the way the area was set up. I'm thinking this is no longer possible considering the layout of the deli?
Rowan555 Posted January 5, 2013 #67 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Speaking of lines...how is the line for breakfast burritos, compared to the often-long omelet lines?
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #68 Share Posted January 5, 2013 By now I was starving (then and now), so was time to sample some of the food. A burger from Guy's was in order and maybe some of the new pizza, too. I had been curious about Guy's. Normally I don't eat many hamburgers but had to try one, and, of course, take pictures of it. There was rarely much of a line a Guy's, but when there was, they opened a second serving line that many seemed to overlook. I have read of some lines on Carnival Breeze, or of Guy's sometimes handing out burgers and customers not being given a choice, but that isn't the case on Carnival Conquest. The only default was that they came with super melty cheese (SMC), but you could ask for them with not cheese, no problem. I had heard about and decided a Pig Patty was in order... They do have quite the assembly line, but you can have it your way. Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #69 Share Posted January 5, 2013 In the past, if someone wanted a hot dog but the burger line was very long, it was pretty simple to walk up and grab a hot dog without being rude, because of the way the area was set up. I'm thinking this is no longer possible considering the layout of the deli? I would consider that rude but don't remember excessive lines. I think Fish and Chips had the longest line I saw one day. Not sure if that was typical.
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #70 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Speaking of lines...how is the line for breakfast burritos, compared to the often-long omelet lines? I didn't see long lines, but not sure what it might be like when they first open. I walked up to both the burrito and taco stations.
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #71 Share Posted January 5, 2013 anyway, I looked at all the fixins available, but decided not to mess with perfection. I present the Pig Patty and fries (the fries are GREAT, too). some deconstruction to see what's there
Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #72 Share Posted January 5, 2013 The Guy's Burger was better than I could have imagined. Delicious. Hard to believe there is no extra charge for them. Carnival sure hit a home run with them. :)

Sargent_Schultz Posted January 5, 2013 Author #75 Share Posted January 5, 2013 On our Dec. 2nd cruise they served omelets at this window. Good to know, if I were a morning person or liked omelets. :D:D but I am sure is of interest to some. Thanks. there was at least one other omelet station that I did see, unless they changed it.
