Has anyone used island marketing for RIU

or other paradise island resort day pass. one is $75 and the other $50

whats the difference.

The diff is the RIU is a decent hotel on beach with good food and atmosphere, and the other is Paradise Island Harbour Resort which is a run down dump located on the Harbour with a dirty beach and nasty pool.

PIHR is a spring break dump... if that's what you are looking for.

Check the reviews on Tripadvisor.

Yes, we just got back from Nassau yesterday. We booked the RIU day pass through Island Marketing. It was $75 a person and we paid a 20% deposit when we booked. They sent us a confirmation email which we printed and took with us to RIU. We paid the balance directly to the hotel.

No problems with Island Marketing and we had a very nice day at RIU.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting this... I just discovered the information on the RIU day pass in Nassau and was wondering if we should try reserving through Island Marketing.

Any photos from your day there?? Did you take the bus?? Could we walk to the Atlantis Casino from there??

REALLY appreciate your thoughts on this!!

You can't take the bus to Paradise Island, unfortunately. You have to take a taxi. Getting there took a while because the driver wanted to fill up the van. It cost $4 a person. Getting back was easier because we just grabbed a van right outside the hotel and had it to ourselves, although it cost a few dollars more ($11 for both of us).

Yes, you can walk to the Atlantis casino. It's not far.

I'll try to post some pictures of RIU tonight.

Thanks for the pics CruisinCrow. My family is headed to the Riu in March. After seeing those pictures my kids can't wait. I think we made the right decision. Any other tips ?

You don't need to take towels from the ship. When you check in, you'll get towel cards which you can exchange for towels at the towel hut.

There aren't a lot of activities going on. It's mostly a nice beach day. Beware that the waves can be huge! We saw a lot of people getting knocked over.

There's a buffet lunch, which was pretty decent. Drinks were good.

Enjoy!

Great news about not lugging those big towels from the ship - especially when they're sandy and wet on the way back!!

Are there showers/changing rooms if we want to rinse off? Planning to go early to the RIU and possibly hit the Atlantis casino for a little while mid-afternoon?? Also, did I read that there was a breakfast buffet at the RIU or should we have breakfast before we get off the ship??

Thanks again for this info!!

Only 25 days till sailaway :)

There was an outdoor shower and bathrooms by the pool. No changing rooms. You could also change in the lobby bathroom, I guess, as long as you dry off before going inside. You have to wear a cover-up and shoes in the lobby.

There is a breakfast buffet. I can't remember what time it closed but it was still open when we got there around 10am. We didn't try it since we'd already eaten on the ship.

What is RIU? How long did it take to get there? And how much? Looking for something like this in May 2013.

RIU is an all-inclusive hotel on Paradise Island (next to Atlantis). It costs $100 a person if you just walk in, $75 a person if you book in advance through Island Marketing.

We have been to RIU but not Breezes. Almost every thing that I have read about, RIU is better.

Sandals is the best but cost more, we have been there.. We have also been to the Paradise Harbour Resort for $50.00 PP. This was our least favorite AI day pass.

This is how we booked too, you can't go wrong. We've used island marketing many times for other ports as well:D

Read the first 2 posts on this thread and you will have your answer. :)

We have done the day passes at Sandals, RIU and the Paradise Harbour Resort. It may be $50.00 p/p but not much to look at. The beach is a joke. If you just want a cheap place to drink and eat for all-inclusive, the beer was cold and the lunch was good.
