iCruise Card Redemption Points just changed

Just got notice that this is changing as of 8/31/05. For 34,000 points used to be $1,000 off, is now $400 !!! This sucks.......

I know, this really does stink. I'm only $4000 away from the $1000 off. I guess I better spend them soon! Also, I guess I will be getting rid of this card and looking for a different cruise card. Does the Carnival one give decent deals?

The letter I received said that we need to use all of our points by August 31st. I'm hoping we can book it by then, but not necessarily cruise that quickly.

I booked a cruise for Jan 06. I paid the deposit- now- to use the points (Ihave 17,000 for $500 off- do I need to apply that before Aug 31st and pay off the balance- or can I use the $500 to lower the balance and then have until their Oct deadline to pay it all off. I guess what I'm asking is whether I need to pay off the remaining balance when I go to use my credits.

 

If anyone knows of another cruise or travel credit card out there- let me know. Doesn't look like this one is going to be worth it anymore. I might just as well stick to one with cash back- that way I can use it on anything. I thought this one was too good to be true.
