Hi

We are planning on going on the April 13th cruise on the Summit. We were recommended to go with Deck 3 ( Plaza). This deck has the dining room, grand foyer etc. It seems fine BUT I realized that Deck 4 has the casino, and a lot of activity and I am worried about the noise above us and thought maybe we should go with Deck 2..... ANy thoughts?

Currently we will be in room 3052.

Thanks!

You should have no noise issues with stateroom 3052. Above it, on deck 4 is the location of the photo Gallery. This is not an area that generates noise. Also, the advantage of deck 3 is that the promenade is just one deck above which makes it easy to get some fresh air. Enjoy your cruise.

Is cabin 2185 ok???

I see two problems with 2185. The first, it's a connecting stateroom which for me is a possible source of noise comming from your neighbors. The second problem is that it has a wall that neighbors the galley which could be an important source of noise.

Deck 3 is very convenient, and whereas I don't know of any problems with cabin 3052, I would recommend that you check out the new cabins on Deck 3 (3112-3140). They have very large windows and are newer. Shirley

The post by Shirley above give you good advice. Recently Summit added "new" oceanview cabins on deck 3 aft of Guest Relations. That area had previously been meeting rooms that had large round windows. When the area was changed over to staterooms the large windows remained.

I have read several good reviews of these rooms.

Thanks!!!

We have room 3112 booked on the Summit for a New Year's cruise 2013. Someone mentioned the larger window in this grouping of "new" cabins on deck 3. Below is an image of one of these cabins.

Even if we were offered an upgrade to a balcony, I do not know if I would want it. That window looks amazing, the room has been added recently, so is much newer, and the location looks great (close to elevators, stairs, atrium, dining, martini bar, etc.)
