What are you interested in doing? Will you be docking in Coxen Hole or Mahagony Bay? Check out victor Bodden tours and your ship excursions to give you an idea of what is available to do/see. And of cousrse scan thru these threads for ideas.

not sure on dock - we are on Royal Car boat in March. Kids like to do beach but also see the scenery (rain forest, monkeys, etc..) thx

You'll be docking at Coxen Hole. (closer to West Bay Beach) Check out perhaps getting a private driver for your family with Victor Bodden. Then you can decide how long you want to spend on the beach, touring etc. The driver will do what YOU want. It's a very good way of doing the things you want and having the driver stick with you the whole day for your whims.;)

West bay beach has it all. In addition to being one of the prettiest beaches in the Caribbean, you can snorkel right off shore...didn't see much else on cab ride there, and the cab drivers are unregulated and will rip you off!

Another option could be to visit Maya Key. It has it all and we just came back 2 weeks ago and will definitely go back again next time we are in Roatan. The snorkeling was amazing!!! There is a beach, they have monkeys and it is an animal reserve...so like visiting a "mini" zoo on the island. They also have a nice pool, food included (which was good), and also have a replica mayan ruins area to walk around in. Oh, there are birds that run loose and iguanas. My 4 year old just loved this place.

I did a FULL review...with TONS of pictures if you are interested in checking it out:

Our day at Maya Key starts at post #290 :)

If you are interested in doing ziplining...we did that last year and the daughter loved it as well...then I can provide you with a link to that review as well (which includes a visit to West Bay) :)

As others have mentioned, it was the highlight of our cruise...and our ship had to leave at 3:00! The Island is beautiful, the staff exceptional and very friendly, the water was crystal clear, the perfect temp, even in January!

They have jet skis, banana boats, Kayaks, snorkeling trips, monkeys, macaws or if you want to just "get away", they have beautiful private beaches on different parts of the island.

We did the Full Island Package for 88.00 ea., well worth every penny. The food was excellent, the drinks ice cold... We loved it and will return the next time we dock in Roatan!
