Best hotel for the $ in Galveston

My DS and I will be cruising on March 30th on the Triumph. Looking for a nice hotel w decent rates. I am parking at the port and will only need the hotel for one night. So what are your preferences in hotels?

In my opinion

San Luis, Hilton, Moody Gardens, Tremont, Galvez and Harbor House

are the better hotels.

Many other ones obviously!

Okay, so I went thru Priceline and paid $70 for Springhill Suites. It looks pretty decent and close enough to the port. Anyone stayed here before?

Galveston is an island, so eveything is close to the port.

The two hotels within walking distance are The Tremont and Harbor House.

You will be fine with the Springhill Suites.

So realized after reading my confirmation email from price line that I booked my room w wrong dates. Thank goodness they allowed me to cancel the res. as long as I made another one. I decided to just book a room in Winnie. This is what we did last yr when going on Magic. Much cheaper than trying to get a room for one night during Spring break/Easter break in Galveston.

Staying in Winnie, you MUST eat at Al-T's. Anyone calling herself "CajunMom" will love it. Aiiieeee, Cher! I live in Winnie and I know. Heck, PM me and wife & I will join you!
