Which Hilton property in NOLA?

I have Hilton Honors points for my post-cruise stay.

Which of these Hilton properties would you recommend for two "new to New Orleans" ladies after their cruise?:

Hilton St.Charles Ave.

Hilton Riverside

Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter/CBD

Homewood Suites Downtown

Hampton Inn Downtown

Doubletree

3 called "convention center"

No car, so no parking issues. We love to walk. Also love to use public transportation.

Actually, it's probably one night pre-cruise and two nights post-cruise. We do not have to stay in the same place both times.

Recommendations from the experts, please!

Of the hotels that you mentioned, I would choose the Homewood Suites on Poydras. It is a little further up Poydras, but that makes it a little quieter. It is easy walking distance to the French Quarter.

My second choice is the Hilton Riverside. It is a massive hotel, with Drago's restaurant in the lobby. The casino is across the street, and they have some great food on Fulton Street, one block over. You could probably get a river-view room here and watch the river traffic. Also, there is easy walking access to the river-walk shopping area from this hotel.

Hilton Garden Inn on S. Peters st. is nice and newly remodeled, It is a little further walk from the French Quarter, and I do not know if two ladies would want to walk that walk after dark. It is a nice hotel with a great staff.

Hilton Garden Inn on Gravier St is really nice and is just finishing up a total remodel. It is a close walk to the French Quarter.

I have stayed in all of these properties, I do business with hotels all over Louisiana and stay in NOLA at least 2 nights a month.

We normally do Marriott properties in NO, this year we chose Doubletree. Really great hotel. Just across the street from the casino, looking out onto Canal St. Minutes from everything a tourist would want to do!! Plan on using them for our next cruise.
