sunshine4fun2 Posted January 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Booked on the Legend Feb 3rd :}It's been several years since our last cruise. We been doing all inclusives the last several years, so I have some questions.... Do we need to bring our own towels for excursions or can we take some from the ship?? Someone said there is a restaurant on board now that you pay to eat at??? How late are the bars/dance clubs open at night??? The last cruise we went on we were really dissapointed with the music on board..... Hoping this one is better. Years ago we had a sign & sail card to purchase drinks, excursions, ect... is this the same?. (Actually my first several cruises the drinks were free:)) Or a pop card??? Do they still have that you sign up for your dinning time in the evening? What is the dress code for the dinning room? That is all I can think of right now... But please if there is some change that has happened in the last 6 years I would be interested in hearing it. thanks so much Sunshine
kingoftheicedragons Posted January 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Yes, you can use the ship's towels on excursions. There is a for fee steakhouse on some ships--all but fantasy and triumph classes I believe. Sail and sign card for all purchases. There is a soda card if you wish. Yes, you need to choose between early, late, or any time dining. Dress code is basically anything except sport shorts, cut-off shorts, tank tops, and beachwear. Elegant night can mean anything somewhat nice, including slacks for men and women, and even a polo shirt, though shirt and tie is still nice. Music is basically not as good, no live music on deck, and they are phasing out the show bands.
h_blond2 Posted January 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2013 I can't answer all of your questions, but I'll try to help! You can take the towels from the ship on excursions, but we take our own in case we would lose them...don't want to pay the money if we lose them and they get super heavy when they are wet. You still use your Sign and Sail card to purchase everything on the ship, but you can use cash in the casino. You do sign up for the time you want to eat dinner, but now they have Your Time Dining. You can eat from 5:45 to 9...I think those are the times anyway. We choose not to eat in the MDR, so I don't have a lot of information on that! I hope this helps! mondello Posted January 16, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Is bottled water available for free on the Legend??? Or I read somewhere that they allow a case per person to be brought on?? Allowed 12 non-alcoholic drinks (up to 20oz) per PAX and 1 750ml bottle of wine/champagne per adult. Big bottle of water in your cabin is about 3.95 so carry-on your own pop/water. All drinks carry-on only, not in checked bags. Bring a small soft-sided cooler for your convenience. You can bring aboard more pop/water from your port stops, too. Cooler size is limited to 12"X12"X12".
summersigh Posted January 16, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2013 You may want to go to the Carnival web site and go through the FAQ's. They answer your questions above and give lots more information as well. I find them very helpful.:)
