To cruise for points or not to cruise...

Hello,

I am a "frequent" cruiser on Royal Caribbean (Gold Level) and looking forward to my first cruise on Celebrity in March 2014 Down Under. As you can imagine the 2014 trip to Sydney is a trip of a lifetime.

Here is my dilemma. I am one (1) night shy of the Platinum level on Crown and Anchor which with then give me a status at Celebrity. It’s my understanding Gold level on Crown and Anchor has NO benefits on Celebrity’s Captain’s Club.

What are the benefits on Celebrity's Captain's Club? Are they worth another cruise on Royal? Trying to decide if there is value to taking a short Royal Caribbean cruise prior to traveling on Celebrity so I can get status. Does anyone have experience with these reciprocity levels?

Should also mention I took advantage of the 123 Booking promo and have a classic drink package for the 2014 cruise.

Look forward to your cruising expertise.

With RCI and Celebrity there are only token perks at the lower levels, but some really nice perks at the higher levels. Really until you reach Elite with Celebrity or Diamond with RCI they are not worth worrying about.

Oops, just found the first answer on how they align....

Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society® Platinum and Emerald levels will be equivalent to Select in Celebrity Cruise's Captain's Club.

Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Society® Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club levels will be equivalent to Elite in Celebrity Cruise's Captain's Club.
