Lunch After Cruise 3/17/13

We have a 3:45 pm flight on 3/17/13. We plan to use Celebrity's luggage valet service if it is available. If not, we will have our luggage to deal with after we get off the ship. We would like to go to a nice hotel on/near the beach so that we can hang and have a nice lunch. Would appreciate any recommendations for a place to chill before heading to the chaos at FLL by 1:45 pm. Thanks.

These Fort Lauderdale hotels offer nice beach-view indoor-outdoor lunch and are very close to the port/airport. Call ahead to make sure that they will be serving lunch and not just Sunday brunch. I guess you won't need a day room for your short hours:

 

Marriott Harbor Beach (Sea Level, only one literally on the beach, and has the biggest pool area if they let you hang out)

Ritz Carlton (Via Luna)

W (Steak 954)

Westin (Shula's)

Atlantic (East End Brasserie)

 

If you decide to just walk around and then go to a non-hotel-based restaurant, my favorites would be Casablanca Cafe or H20. They have good food and cost less than a hotel.

It's not a hotel but Quarterdeck at the Dania Beach Pier is as close to the beach as you can get...literally.

 

Luggage would be a bit of a problem, though, unless you can get a really cheap rental car. By the time you add up luggage service and roundtrip taxi fare a rental may be cheaper.
