827 Toulouse Street in the French Quarter.

Is it in a safe area? Nice hotel?

Yes it's in a safe area, about a block off Bourbon, we stayed here once, the only complaint we have is a hard mattress, other than that it's a nice hotel.

St. Marie is a good location and will let you enjoy the French Quarter.

As most of the hotels in the Quarter, it's old but has charm. If you are driving there is a surcharge for parking about $30 per night. This is common for all French Quarter hotels also.
