schpsych Posted June 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2005 Just received a message from Randa Gairrison of Randi's Happy Horses alerting me to the Pride change of itinerary. The ports are the same but the ports are reversed visiting Cabo, Mazatlan, and PV then 2 sea days back to LA. This starts June 5th and goes through Sept. 18. Carnivals website does not reflect this as of tonight. Anyone else have some info.?
Wennfred Posted June 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2005 Mine for Oct 23, shows PV, Maza, Cabo still.

LKlitsch Posted June 4, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2005 Hi Kelly,:) It's true see below. I called Carnival a few minutes ago and they verified. He said we should be receicing something soon. Operational issues have been resolved. Therefore, the Carnival Pride's itinerary WILL BE modified as of the sailing of June 5, 2005 In order to enhance guest satisfaction, the Itinerary of the Carnival Pride will be modified. bardgal Posted June 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2005 8am - 7pm in CABO????? That's AWESOME!
kaylahszoo Posted June 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 4, 2005 This is quite funny- at least to my warped sense of humor. When I read this email- I emailed Randi to notify her about the change in schedule- as I read her original reservation- low and behold- I had booked it for the wrong day. I had booked it for Wed the15th. Things never work in my favor- I am always a victim of 'Murphys Law." Maybe this is an omen- I'd better take more money for the casino!! Only 8 more days!! I have everything bought- it's in assorted bags scattered around the house. Now it's time to organize and see what I'm missing.
bkw67 Posted June 4, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2005 ...Operational issues have been resolved. Therefore, starting with the cruise of June 5, 2005 and continuing until the cruise of September 18, 2005, ... My questions to this are: What operational issue has been resolved (what is carnival reffering too)? And if this is to "enhance guest satisfaction" then why does it revert back on September 18th? Enquiring minds want to know!!! ;)

crazycath Posted June 4, 2005 #9 Share Posted June 4, 2005 My mother and I are on the last cruise with the port changes, Sept 18th, I was disappointed with the short time in Cabo, now I am very happy, more time in Cabo. Woo hoo Cathy
RYPERO Posted June 4, 2005 #10 Share Posted June 4, 2005 What a great change with getting more time in Cabo. I wonder if they can make this a permanent change?

bardgal Posted June 4, 2005 #12 Share Posted June 4, 2005 My questions to this are: What operational issue has been resolved (what is carnival reffering too)? And if this is to "enhance guest satisfaction" then why does it revert back on September 18th? Enquiring minds want to know!!! ;) My guess as far as "Guest Satisfaction" goes, is that there is now a full day in Cabo. (AWESOME) The reason that it reverts back at the end of summer is beginning 9/18, other ships are returning to this itinerary, and Cabo does not want more than one or two mega ships in port at any one time. I have rarely been in port with a second ship here, and if there was, one of us left at 2pm. One time, when we left at 2pm, another ship was pulling in as we left. I know the Caribbean has become over run with too many ships in the very small ports and things have changed there, and not for the better. When I was cruising there, we were always the only ship in port, and it was a very small one, so the ports never seemed over run. That is one of the reasons I LOVE the Mexican Riviera. I think the "Operational Issue" may be a time factor perhaps? Obviously, they have to go a little faster the first Sea Day to get to Cabo by 8am Tuesday, since it's usually around 12:30/1pm when you pass it headed to PV. Or it may be reshuffling things in all three ports since they have to staff for when the ships come in, so that would be a lot of personnel rescheduling for the next few months. I have no clue - but that's my guess. :D
magtart Posted June 5, 2005 #13 Share Posted June 5, 2005 If anyone else can confirm this, it would be nice to have this information. We sail on the 26th of June. Me too...June 26th. I got an email about it from Randi, but have heard nothing from the TA or Carnival.
kaylahszoo Posted June 5, 2005 #14 Share Posted June 5, 2005 So- I checked on our reservation on the Carnival site and it still has the original itinerary listed- will they automatically reschedule excursions that are booked through them?
GavinLC Posted June 5, 2005 #15 Share Posted June 5, 2005 Hi everyone, I received a fax-email from Carnival tonight. I'm booked on the Pride for 8/7, and it was informing me of the itinerary change. They faxed it to me because I had pre-booked my shore excursions online, and now it's cancelling them and having me rebook them because all of the dates are changed. It says the reason is so that they can extend the stay in Cabo. Cheers! Gavin
bardgal Posted June 5, 2005 #16 Share Posted June 5, 2005 Hi everyone,....... It says the reason is so that they can extend the stay in Cabo. Cheers! Gavin I win! I win! I win! ;) I just wish they would have done that LAST WEEK!!!
rwethereyet Posted June 5, 2005 #17 Share Posted June 5, 2005 maybe with more time in Cabo- they can fix the waterslide vbg
kaylahszoo Posted June 6, 2005 #18 Share Posted June 6, 2005 Called Carnival because we cruise on June 12 and have not heard a word. They said any excursions booked through them will be taken care of once we board the ship. This will be the case through the 7/3 cruise. Don't know if that is a good or a bad sign. We will shortly see.
dms_cruisers04 Posted June 6, 2005 #19 Share Posted June 6, 2005 Hmmm? I wonder if they'll have to do this again next year? We're thinking about trying another MR cruise (the first one was hurricane-ized). Jealous of all of you that are getting to go this year. Therefore, the below will be the new itinerary until the sailing of Sept 25, 2005 at which time the vessel will revert back to the published brochure itinerary. At least that's how I read it. mrmac Posted June 7, 2005 #24 Share Posted June 7, 2005 The new port times are fantastic! There is so much to do in Cabo and PV. I don't know why they don't have this schedule all the time. I didn't think they could be in Cabo by 8am but then I figured they make it home from Cabo in about 38 hours and going down they have 40 hours to get there by 8am, not counting time changes. Why go back to the other schedule? Carnival is the only line to do Mexico Riviera year round. Don't they have priority over the other part timers? I don't know how that works. Greengirl Posted June 7, 2005 #25 Share Posted June 7, 2005 Very Cool!! Cabo is so beautiful!! So if I remember correctly, the formal nights are on Monday and Friday - which means that they are both going to be on sea days! No rushing from port to get ready. Great news all around - I am so excited!
