CruiseWhere Posted January 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2013 Is the first formal night the second day at sea? And on a 14 day cruise when is the last formal night, typically?
sail7seas Posted January 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2013 It can vary by itinerary. MOST of the time, the first formal night is the second night aboard but there are times when it might be put off until third night depending upon if the ship is at sea, has been in port and what time she sailed or if next day is a sea day. Last formal night, MOST of the time is the second from last night aboard but that, too, can vary. If you tell us your itinerary, we likely can tell you which nights probably will be your four formal nights.
PathfinderEss Posted January 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2013 I agree with Sails, first formal night is usually the first sea day, which is the second day of the cruise.

Which ship? We need to go look up your cruise to see the itinerary. It depends what days are sea days, what time ship may sail from port, holidays...... without reading the itinerary, it's hard to know. But how lovely for you to have such a nice long cruise to look forward to. :)

bphman Posted January 22, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2013 On the second night of our 7 night cruise, my wife and I got all dressed up and went down to the restaurant to see the Phillies fans in their best Phillies shirts. Back to the cabin to change into something less formal. Needless to say, formal night was the third night.
CruiseWhere Posted January 23, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted January 23, 2013 Perhaps giving Ship Services a call is worthwhile:rolleyes:
sail7seas Posted January 23, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2013 I'm sorry I didn't get back sooner but I've been having trouble opening threads on CC tonight. Your first formal night of both segments will be your first full day at sea. You will board on Day 1 and your formal will be the next night. Same for your second segment. I am sorry I forgot it was Maasdam as I know you said so earlier but I didn't remember. :o My apologies.
