Buying Shore Excursions

Believe it, or not, we have never purchased a ship's excursion. But, we are planning to purchase at least one for our Europe cruise this summer. When I looked at the excursions, and explored RESERVING one, it said that I had to enter my credit card data and purchase it, with no refunds available. It seems to me that when I have been on cruises, I have seen signs about a certain day being the last day that you can cancel an excursion. Can you cancel and receive a refund if you change your mind?

That's weird... We booked a few tours through the ship for the first time for our upcoming cruise in the Caribbean and we have up until 24hrs before the excursion to cancel on the ship. Could this be because you are sailing in Europe? Sometimes there are different rules over there than for the Caribbean...

Yes, our cruise is to Norway, above the Arctic Circle.

I've had to cancel one passenger off a tour in Europe and received a full refund for that passenger (they were ill on the day). The Explorations! desk were very amenable. I would imagine the 24 hour rule still applies, illness aside.
