MissKIA Posted January 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2013 I have read here many times that when you go up a tier - for example from red to gold - during your sailing, that you will get the higher tier from the beginning of that cruise. Is this just speculation, or do any of you actually have experience with this happening? We go from Red to Gold on day 4 of our 15 day Hawaii cruise, so just wondering if we will get red or gold cards.
beckyjohns Posted January 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2013 We cruised last April (before the new program). It was my husband's 10th cruise and he did receive his platinum S&S card when we boarded.
kellane Posted January 24, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2013 While we have not experienced it ourselves yet, our PVP assured us that is the way it works. We should move up to Gold when we sail in May.
4hunters Posted January 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2013 We are currently red but will be moving to Gold during our next cruise. Funny thing is that our boarding docs (the ones you can print out from the Carnival site) already have us listed as Gold.
kelkel2 Posted January 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2013 I have seen John Heald answer this question a few times on his facebook account. He did say that if you are moving up a level during your cruise you should be receiving the next level up card at embarkation!
jules1121 Posted January 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 24, 2013 Last cruise my DH moved from red to gold and got a pin and gold benefits on the cruise so I can confirm that yes you move up at the start of the cruise (officially by days he rolled over on day 3 of the cruise to the new level). breenw Posted January 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 24, 2013 You will definitely move up on that cruise no matter which day into the cruise that you reach the next level. By the way, we have a thread over on the Roll Call board for this Hawaii sailing in January 2014.

Yes, both my husband and I were Gold when boarding last week. Even though my husband's days wouldn't "technically" turn Gold until the last day of our cruise.... I will definitely make an effort to get over there and introduce myself!
happy cruzin Posted January 24, 2013 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2013 Huh...well there is my "fact for the day". ;) Good to know! I thought it was still the cruise AFTER you meet the requirement. But...I probably wasn't paying much attention - my level isn't going to change for a while! :o
