cruzzlookin Posted January 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2013 My wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary by taking our 1st cruise on Carnival Glory. We'll be in Cozumel on the 19th of March and want to take a nice boat ride and do some snorkeling. Would like to hear some opinions on getting the most for our money. Thanks! caribsun Posted January 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2013 I feel that best option is to take a cab to The Money Bar and snorkel from shore. Many of the boat tours go to the same reef in front of the Money Bar. http://moneybarbeachclub.com/ The cab is just 8.00 and the club is 10 min. down the road. Just walk in and rent the snorkel or bring your own. No need to sign up for a package. I am on the same cruise, come join us on the Glory Roll Call. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1596583
Beachdude Posted January 26, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2013 If you have never done drift snorkeling, Id suggest you go on a boat tour. It's different experience floating with the current passing over the sea life. It's a little crowded right off the boat, but the snorkelers spread out fast. Snorkeling from shore is good too. The risk of snorkeling from shore is getting caught in a vacation club tour that includes all the margaritas you can drink and finding yourself signing on the dotted line. So I'm told.:D Burt. SPacificbound Posted January 26, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2013 We liked Fury http://www.furycozumel.com/ And for off the beach Chankanabb National Park http://cozumelparks.gob.mx/ Depends on how much time you have.
