Puffin Inn?

Our flight arrives after midnight in late May and we will be heading out the next morning with a rental car to spend three nights near Denali. We've booked the Puffin Inn for our night of arrival - basically just sleeping (as if:rolleyes:...) and showering in the morning before picking up our rental car (cost $115.00). The cost was so much cheaper than other hotels near the airport, that it seemed like a no-brainer. I just can't justify spending over $200 for approximately 8 hours in a hotel room. We just want clean and close to the airport with a free shuttle - this seemed to fit the bill. No other amenities needed. Anyone have opinions or reviews of the Puffin Inn they'd be willing to share? We can always cancel and rebook somewhere else if anyone has a recommendation for a similarly priced lodging for one (very) short night in Anchorage. Thanks in advance - all comments and/or suggestions welcome.

I'd personally go up the street and stay at Motel 6. Much cleaner and safer.

I'd second that on the Motel 6. It's in a better area of town and is newer too.

Where is your rental car pick up location? A motel closer to that might be a better choice.

Thanx to all - I believe we will rethink our choice of the Puffin Inn. Does the Motel 6 offer free airport shuttle?

Thank you bearbait, chenega and Penny, really appreciate your excellent advice. We cancelled our reservation at the Puffin Inn, and booked at Motel 6 as recommended. And what a bargain! Got it for $80.00/per night, rather than the $115.00 at Puffin Inn. Located in a safer area and cleaner, plus $35.00 less. Can't beat that! Hey, every little bit helps;)!
