Grand Suite 1264 not what we expected or wanted

I am sorry you were unhappy with 1264. However, I am thrilled with what the balcony will be like as I must limit my exposure to the sun and appreciate the shade. There is a video of this room on you tube if anyone wants to see what it looks like.

Thanks!

We had a similar GS on Liberty. The overhang didn't bother us as much as we thought it would. What DID bother us, and kind of annoying, is the condensation that would collect on the blue tarp thingy. It would collect and drip all over the table/chairs -- so every morning before we sat on the balcony and had our coffee we'd have to wipe everything down. :(

It's really great that you posted this so that anyone looking for this room with a search will see this message. Through your misfortune, you may help a lot of others in the future.

i get so much help from these boards , I like to be able to give back information that may be helpful to others. Different strokes for different folks, I say, and if you have the information you can decide what works for you.

You probably saved our cruise, thank you. I assumed this was a great cabin because I don't want sun. But the dark tinted balcony glass and the hum of the jacuzzi motor are deal breakers. Fortunately they were able to move our reservation to GS 1252, right next to forward elevators but I'll take it!

What class of cabin do you think it should be sold as? A GS is a GS anywhere on the ship. Your GS would have been exactly the same as a GS anywhere else on the ship. The fact that one of the cantilevered hot tubs is directly above does not change the type of cabin it is. Although it is unfortunate that Royal Caribbean's deck plan makes no mention of the hot tub being above that cabin you still had the correct class of cabin that you booked.

And I always look carefully at what is directly above and below me, not just what is around me on same deck.

My longest night at sea was when we had a GS on the Grandeur on our first cruise to Bermuda. On the we spent in Bermuda, there was a midnight pool party. The buffet was directly over us - the bandstand just slightly to the left. The band played to 1:30. Since it was just a bit to the left, I couldn't tell if the music was good - we could only hear the bass. The cleanup lasted until three. DH slept through it - I still don't know how. I was too tired to enjoy my final day in Bermuda. Ugh. No more cabins under the pool deck for me.

None of this would bother me since I normally close the casino around 3 or 4 a.m., lol
