First Time Cruisers!

Hi there!

I have been lurking the boards for a few weeks and have gotten lots of info. We leave July 8th our of NY on Carnival for 8 days in San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola I believe. WE are cruising with my parents, sister, brother and even grandma. Everyone has cruised before except my husband and I. Any suggestions or tips for our upcoming cruise?

Jen&Bill ~ only one piece of advice: relax and don't expect ANYTHING but a blast! I'm trying really hard not to hold my expectations high so that I won't be disappointed with anything. I've cruised 3 times before and was immensely impressed every time. So, my only expectation this time is that I will have fun and be able to relax. A bad day on a cruise is still better than the best day at work :D

My first cruise was with my parents, my brother and sister-in-law (who was pregnant), and my other brother who spent all of his time in the casino. I am not a casino person, we went to some shows, but in general the parents and bro/sister-in-law were sleeping by 10:30.....I didn't want to do things by myself....so I missed out on some things I wanted to do..live and learn - won't do that again!

 

My advice is to spend quality time with your family...(I have great memories)...but when there is something you and the hubby want to do...do it! The worst thing is to come home with regrets!

Take a moon lit stroll with hubby and see the stars from a new prespective. Take a few deep breaths and thank the stars you are there and not somewhere else. Bring a bottle of bubbly along too. Pretend it's a date have fun. Make memories.

Do yourself a favor and go to Virgin Gorda at Tortola and do some snorkeling!

Also, enjoy the ship, the passengers and the crew on board.
