teaach Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I just booked an ext.aft on the Breeze. Only a Lido balcony available at first, so I asked to be put on a waiting list for ext. aft and they said they would, but not to get my hopes up. No one called, but I monitor the fake bookings often and as fate would have it, I saw an ext aft. Called Carnival and was given the casino rate, which I had for the Lido balcony, for only $40. more. This will be my 5th ext aft and I can't wait!

MrPete Posted January 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2013 The extended afts are nothing, but the vista suites? You passed on THE bargain and THE upgrade.

JCrewz Posted January 30, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Maybe after you have slept on it you can still call and change your mind. We got an email last year on our Holland America Alaskan cruise to upgrade from a forward balcony to a luxury suite....about a $2,200 upgrade for $499.00. It was great to get champagne treatment on a Dr. Pepper budget. Hope you decide to splurge.
golfadj Posted January 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2013 We spend very little time in our cabin but other than taking an aft wrap for several hundred over a regular balcony would pass also.

MrPete Posted January 30, 2013 #9 Share Posted January 30, 2013 What are the vista suites? They used to be called the aft wraps. The Spirit class has 10 of them on each ship.
summer_girl Posted January 30, 2013 #10 Share Posted January 30, 2013 I would love a vista suite (aft wrap) but I sure do LOVE my aft extended balcony as well!!!
CheepWrent Posted January 30, 2013 #11 Share Posted January 30, 2013 We are sailing to Alaska for the 2nd time, coming up in late May, 2013. The first time we sailed on the Spirit and were on the Upper deck, balcony, center of ship. This time, we purposely booked way early, sailing the Carnival Miracle, so that we could get an aft wrap (Vista Suite)! I was so tired of looking at wraps when I'm headed back to the ship after a long day in port! I can't wait. YouTube videos are a great time passer, but I know soon I'll board the ship and one has my name all over it! For Alaska and Hawaii, especially, I would say anything aft is great, but a Vista Suite cabin is something special to enjoy at least once in your life! I don't see anything other than Early Saver & Past Passenger on the website....

I don't see anything other than Early Saver & Past Passenger on the website.... You do a fake booking- go to the carnival website, and book your cruise. When you get to the room selection point it will show you what rooms are available to choose from and you can calculate the price difference as well. Then if you want to upgrade yourself you can call carnival and modify your room. The casino rate pops up for certain people who play a lot. I dont know if anyone has figured out what triggers it yet. My BF gambles a LOT on cruises and it doesnt show up for him. :P
