Opie Posted January 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Just trying to find out if any recent (2012 or 2013) Non-US citizen cruisers to Bahamas were required to have a visa to get off the ship in Nassau. Officially the requirement is unclear so just trying to get recent personal experiences. Thank you. Edited January 30, 2013 by Opie
Charxu Posted January 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) We are Canadian and didn't require a visa, just our passport and s&s card. We use our passport as our photo ID. Edited January 30, 2013 by Charxu
Opie Posted January 30, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks for posting. I'm really seeking postings from people from countries who would normally need a visa to visit Bahamas. Bahamas keep changing their policies about whether those folks need visas to visit for a few hours off of a cruise ship - looking for recent (last 6 month) experiences from those folks. fiathina Posted April 4, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2013 Opie, I just found your post via a search. The Bahamas Consulate in New York has a message on its website saying that with effect from September 2011, cruise ship passengers arriving in the Bahamas are subject to the same visa requirements as everyone else. See http://www.bahamasny.net/applications. The list of nationalities which are visa-required for the Bahamas can be found here: http://www.bahamasny.net/visas_req# Hope this helps! Opie Posted January 15, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks for the responses. As it turns out, as long as you have multiple entry US visas, you should disregard any Bahamian websites that say you need a visa for a cruise ship entry. They are not required.
