cruise insurance ?

Depends on what you get for the $129.00. Does it include air lift? We purchase trip insurance through TravelGuard and NOT through the cruise lines. You can search for insurance and get all kinds of information--pros and cons and prices. You can also go to insuremytrip.com and get comparisons of prices and coverage.

I would go to a site like http://insuremytrip.com to get a good comparison of policy coverages and prices from a number of reputable companies. Only then will you know if it's a good deal or not. We got an excellent plan for four of us on a 7-day cruise for $150...quite a bit cheaper than what Carnival offers and with much, much better coverage. It helped that we could select the types of coverage we need since we are not flying and don't need to worry about all of the potential losses that could cause.

That's tough. It's like saying is a $10 bottle of wine a good buy. I always purchase through insuremytrip.com because you can compare different policies. Many include pre-existing condition waivers (which also applies to relatives with health conditions who are not traveling but may require you to cut your trip short), job loss, cancel for any reason, and other features. Some are primary policies and others are secondary. Emergency evacuation limits vary as does health coverage since your own health insurance may not cover you while traveling. MOST policies provide MOST of what you need. Policies provided by cruise lines are lacking IMHO. I am just happy that you are not planning on traveling without insurance.
