Concerns while on the cruise insurance

I live in my port city so I am not concerned about trip delay or flights. My only concerns are:

1. If I am late getting back to the ship not on a cruise line sponsered excursion.

2. No pre exsisting issues presently

3. Medical insurance. I do not have current medical.

4. Medical emergency evacuation.

5. Trip cancellation due to a death or serious hospilization of a family member.

 

I am traveling with my wife and two teenaged boys.

What kind of policy should I be looking for?

3,4,and 5 are the biggies as far as I am concerned. Not sure if a policy will cover you missing the ship if it is your fault. I would start with http://www.insuremytrip.com to get an idea of what is available. I then called the companies to ask questions (I wanted extra medical and emergency evacuation because I was going to be far from home) and then added extra coverage in those two areas. I finally chose Travel Guard.
