Vision Class Differences

Recommended Posts

I searched and I didn't see any threads on this topic.

Does anyone know why the Vision class ships were essentially built as three different classes of ships, instead of one. I know the Enchantment is different because she was lengthened, but why did they not start out all the same in the beginning?

I always wondered about that. My only explanation would be they made some functional changes after the Legend/Splendour (like they did with the Voyager Class) and that is why the others are different. For instance, the Enchantment has additional cabins, more pool area, and bars so it was an improvement. I still find it odd that they never uniformed the ships.

And i think each pair was built in a different shipyard.

That`s right.

Legend and Splendour was built by Chantiers l'Atlantique in France in 1995 and 1996.

Grandeur and Enchantment built by Kvaerner Masa-Yards, Finland in 1996 and 1997.

Rhapsody and Vision built in Chantiers l'Atlantique, France in 1997 and 1998.
