staylor Posted February 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2013 We are doing a private charter in Belize and were wondering if there is a store where we could buy some beer and other beverages to take along with us. Does anyone remember? TIA
ogtiger10 Posted February 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2013 I'm not sure about buying beer but was wondering about your private charter? Is it a catamaran charter? If so, what company? That's what we are looking for.
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2013 There's a liquor store at the pier, but as its market is duty free liquor to take back, I don't think they sell beer. I beleive the nearest Save-U Market is out on Northern Highway about a 15 minute taxi ride from the pier. Brodes just across the swing bridge may carry beer or one of the smaller stores along Albert or Queen street. But there again, you're talking a 10-15minute walk, or short taxi ride. However, your charter company should be able to supply you with beverages either as part of the package or for a nominal charge. You should ask them. BTW, beer is Belize is only Belikin--Belikin is a pilsner style beer. They also make a more maltier beer called Belikin Premium (more like an ale) and a lighter beer called Lighthouse. There's a stout too but I doubt you want that heavy a beer for a day on the water.
bruins1125 Posted February 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2013 The best thing about Belieze is the Belikan beer, i think you can buy it at the port, there is a pseudo bar right there, enjoy!
