Hi,

I just booked Baja 240 (balcony) and 238 (inside) on the Grand Mediterrean cruise for July 15, 2006. I have never been this far forward. Has anyone been in an upfront cabin? Do you feel more motion? Also, is the balcony partially covered? Thanks...................

You are about 1/4 of the way down the ship. We were in C233 last time on the Star (sister ship) and once in B101 on the Grand which is right up front. You should be fine. It's quiet and smooth.

In smooth waters, you should be fine.

In rough waters, there would be a lot of motion forward. We were in C250, Golden Princess, 8-02, trans-Atlantic, and hit two large Atlantic storms west of the Azores. We had bow-slap spray raining down on our balcony, and the whole ship was shuddering fighting for headway. Some dozen windows along Prom deck shattered, due to ship's flexing and shuddering. The storms caused us to be six hours late into NYC. Although it was stormy and bumpy, we had a great trip!
