Princess "Connoisseur" excursions vs. regular or "Most Popular" excursions

Hi- We'll be on the Royal Princess cruise to the Grand Mediterranean, leaving Venice July 5th. As I look over Princess excursions, I wonder about "Most Popular", or even the regular excursions, vs. the ones labeled "Connoisseur". Are the "Connoisseur" tours that much better?? For instance, is the 5-star lunch in Rome phenomenal?? I would love some help trying to decide!! Thanks!! - Susie & Sam
