Ship and Cabin Catagories

Recommended Posts

If it is not too much work, Can someone explain in maybe just a straight list the catagories of ship by size and the cabin codes and what they mean, ie : d,e,ax, and so on? Just trying to better understand when people are saying they have a certain cabin but want a different cabin. Thanks

Basically, there is Inside, Outside, Balcony, Suite.

The Cabins go up in 'quality' starting with letters lower down the alphabet. The closer you get to the start of the alphabet the 'better' the room is considered to be. If you are in an M or N you will be in what the cruise line considered to be the least desirable inside cabins.

So with Balcony cabins you have E and D, and D are slightly bigger than E.

Additionally, a number may accompany the letter. The lower the number, the better the room is considered to be. On Oasis you have D8 - D1, with D1 being considered better by the Cruise line

With Suites you have JR (Junior), GS (Grand), OS (owners) RS (Royal). Then on the Oasis and Allure you also have Aqua Theater suites and Crown Loft Suites.
