Poker Tournament on Epic

Just got back from the Epic, so I figured I would answer my own question.

They only offer tournaments on sea days. I was only able to play one time (Thursday).

The buy in is $100, and you get $2000 in chips. For the first 2 rounds, which lasted 30mins each, you're able to rebuy. Then you take a quick 10 min break, and this is when you can add on for another $100. The catch is, the add on gives you $4000 in chips, so basically everyone is adding on. Unless you had a massive chip lead, which I didn't. After that point, rebuys were done.

The blinds goes up pretty quickly after the break, every 15mins, it would double. I can't remember what the starting blinds were, but at the end it was $4000/$8000.

We had 4 tables, with 7 players each. The total payout was $4330 (with NCL already taking 25%!). First place gets 50%, second gets 30% and third gets 20%.

Started around 4, and by 6:30, we still had 7 players left. At that point, the table decided to chop the pot. Which is something that was brought up, right when we sat down at the final table. But wasn't agreed upon until it got down to 7 players. Chip leader walked away with a big chunk of it, and rest was split amongst the 6 players evenly. I was one of the 6, so walked away with $480 ($280 gain since I did the add on). My husband thought I should have kept playing since I was 2nd or 3rd in chip lead at that point. But was down to only $5000 a few hands before, and had to go All in at that point, and got lucky, and won the next hand or so. I was ok with chopping it, since your chips can disapper pretty quick at the final table, especially with the blinds being so high.

So expect at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours of tournament time. Really depends on how many players, and how loose/tight they are.

I had fun. Good luck if you decide to play.

Yup. During my week, it was everyday at 4pm. Not sure how big the turn out was on Sunday and Monday, and if there was even a limit on how many players were allowed. I got down to the casino right around 4:05, and I think I was the last player to sign up.

On that Thursday, the BJ tournament finale was going on still at 4, so others thought that was the reason there wasn't as many players in the poker tournament.

You can charge the entry fee, along with the other fees to your on board credit account(without the service charge), or pay with cash.
